Discover Healthcare Careers with MedStart

MedStart is an exciting, hands-on career exploration program brought directly to our campus by the Central Louisiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC). Designed for students interested in medicine, nursing, and allied health professions, this free program bridges the gap between the classroom and the medical field.

Once a month throughout the school year, local healthcare professionals visit our school to introduce students to diverse career paths. Instead of just listening to a lecture, students get to interact with real medical gear, participate in equipment demonstrations, and engage in dynamic, hands-on workshops.

By participating in MedStart, students gain valuable mentorship, discover what it takes to pursue a healthcare degree, and learn how they can make a vital impact on the health of our local community.
